CVE-2024-9702

Summary

CVE-2024-9702 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Social Rocket – Social Sharing Plugin for WordPress. This issue arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'socialrocket-floating' shortcode. Consequentially, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk. Versions of the plugin up to and including 1.3.4 are vulnerable to this issue.
