Summary
CVE-2024-9597 is a recently disclosed Path Traversal vulnerability affecting the `/wipe_database` endpoint in version v12 of the parisneo/lollms software. This issue enables an attacker to delete any directory on the system by sending a maliciously crafted HTTP request. The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of the `key` parameter, which is utilized in constructing file paths. By manipulating this parameter, an adversary can traverse directories and ultimately delete sensitive files or critical system configurations. This can lead to potential data loss, unauthorized access, or other unwanted consequences. It is highly recommended for users to apply the necessary patches as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
