Summary
CVE-2024-9545 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Phlox theme plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the aux_contact_box and aux_gmaps shortcodes. This vulnerability enables authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject malicious scripts that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Versions of the plugin up to and including 2.16.4 are impacted.
