Summary

CVE-2024-9543 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to and including 11.9.18, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'skipto' shortcode. When a user accesses a specially crafted page, the injected scripts will execute, potentially leading to serious security implications such as data theft or site takeover.
