CVE-2024-9473

Summary

CVE-2024-9473 is a privilege escalation vulnerability affecting the Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect app on Windows systems. A non-administrative user, who has already gained local access, can exploit this flaw by utilizing the repair functionality within the installer (.msi) file for GlobalProtect. By doing so, the attacker can escalate their privileges to the highest level (NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM), effectively gaining full control over the compromised system.
