Summary

CVE-2024-9436 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the PublishPress Revisions plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 3.5.14 are impacted by this issue. The flaw is due to the use of add_query_arg function without proper escaping, allowing attackers to inject malicious scripts into URLs. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by tricking a user into clicking a malicious link, leading to the execution of the injected scripts on affected pages. Unauthenticated attackers can leverage this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access or steal sensitive data from unsuspecting users.
