Summary

CVE-2024-9416 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Modula Image Gallery plugin for WordPress. This issue, which affects versions of the plugin's FancyBox JavaScript library (<= 5.0.36), allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes within the plugin. Successful exploitation results in the execution of malicious scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page.
