Summary

CVE-2024-9349 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability affecting the Auto Amazon Links – Amazon Associates Affiliate Plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 5.4.2, arises due to the plugin's failure to properly escape URLs in add_query_arg function. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can inject malicious web scripts into pages, exploiting this vulnerability by tricking users into clicking on specially crafted links. Successful attacks can lead to data theft, session hijacking, or even full site takeover. WordPress users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
