Summary

CVE-2024-9247 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting Foxit PDF Reader. This issue arises due to insufficient validation of user-supplied data in the handling of Annotation objects, allowing attackers to write data before the start of an allocated object. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as visiting a malicious webpage or opening a malicious file. The vulnerability, identified as ZDI-CAN-24173, enables attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected process.
