Summary

CVE-2024-9028 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP GPX Maps plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.7.08, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'sgpx' shortcode. Successful exploitation enables attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts on pages visited by unsuspecting users.
