Details
Summary
CVE-2024-8985 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Social Proof (Testimonial) Slider plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 2.2.4, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's spslider-block shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, potentially leading to unintended actions, data theft, or other malicious activities.
