Summary

CVE-2024-8919 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Confetti Fall Animation plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.3.0, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'confetti-fall-animation' shortcode. Successful exploitation results in the execution of arbitrary web scripts on pages accessed by users.
