Summary

CVE-2024-9721 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting Trimble SketchUp Viewer. Malicious SKP files can be exploited by attackers through user interaction, allowing them to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process. The root cause is a failure to validate the existence of an object before performing operations on it during SKP file parsing. This issue, identified as ZDI-CAN-24105, poses a significant risk to installations of Trimble SketchUp Viewer.
