Summary

CVE-2024-8757 is a critical vulnerability affecting the WP Post Author plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers with Administrator-level access to inject SQL queries through the linked_user_id parameter, which is not properly escaped. The vulnerability exists due to insufficient preparation of existing SQL queries and can result in the extraction of sensitive information from the database. Versions up to and including 3.8.1 are impacted. Users are urged to update to a patched version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
