CVE-2024-8621

Summary

CVE-2024-8621 is a vulnerability affecting the Daily Prayer Time plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject SQL queries through the 'max_word' attribute of the 'quran_verse' shortcode. Due to insufficient escaping on user-supplied data and a lack of preparation on the existing SQL queries, attackers can append additional SQL queries to the existing ones, potentially extracting sensitive information from the database. Versions of the plugin up to, and including, 2024.08.26 are impacted.
