Summary
CVE-2024-8547 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Simple Popup Plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 4.5, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability arises due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's [popup] shortcode. As a result, any page containing an injected shortcode will execute the attacker's scripts when accessed by users.
