Summary

CVE-2024-8355 is a SQL injection vulnerability affecting the Visteon Infotainment System's DeviceManager iAP Serial Number parsing process. This flaw allows physically proximate attackers to execute arbitrary code on impacted installations without requiring authentication. The vulnerability arises from the DeviceManager's inability to validate user-supplied iAP Serial number strings before constructing SQL queries, leading to potential code execution in the context of root. This issue was identified as ZDI-CAN-20112 by ZDI.
