Summary
CVE-2024-8288 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability affecting the Guten Post Layout plugin for WordPress Gutenberg. The issue lies in the insufficient sanitization and output escaping of the 'align' attribute within the 'wp:guten-post-layout/post-grid' Gutenberg block. This weakness allows authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access or higher, to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Versions of the plugin up to and including 1.2.4 are reportedly vulnerable.
