Summary

CVE-2024-8184 is a newly identified cybersecurity vulnerability that impacts Jetty's ThreadLimitHandler. Attackers can exploit this issue by sending crafted requests to the server, leading to remote denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. The vulnerability lies in the getRemote() method, which, when processing these malicious requests, can trigger OutofMemory errors. Consequently, the server's memory is exhausted, causing a denial-of-service condition. System administrators are urged to update their Jetty installations as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
