Summary

CVE-2024-8157 is a vulnerability affecting the Alphabetical List plugin for WordPress. This issue allows attackers to manipulate plugin settings by performing a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attack on a logged-in admin. The plugin fails to implement CSRF protection, making it susceptible to such attacks, where an attacker can force an unwilling user to execute unwanted actions on a web application. This can lead to sensitive information disclosure or unauthorized modification of plugin settings. It is recommended that users update the Alphabetical List plugin to a version beyond 1.0.3 to mitigate this issue.
