Summary
CVE-2024-8020 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the pytorch-lightning library in version 2.3.2. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending an unexpected POST request to the `/api/v1/state` endpoint of a LightningApp instance. The vulnerability stems from improper handling of unexpected state values, which in turn leads to a denial of service as the server shuts down upon encountering these values.
