Summary
CVE-2024-7715 is a critical vulnerability affecting various D-Link DNS models, including DNS-120, DNR-202L, and others, up to version 20240812. The issue lies within the function sprintf of the file /cgi-bin/photocenter_mgr.cgi, which can be exploited through manipulation of the argument filter, resulting in command injection. Attacks can be initiated remotely, and the exploit has been made public. Importantly, this vulnerability only impacts products that are no longer supported by the vendor. D-Link has confirmed that these products are end-of-life and should be retired and replaced.
