Summary

CVE-2024-7538 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting oFono's CUSD AT Command parser. This issue allows local attackers to execute arbitrary code on impacted modems, given they have the capability to execute code on the target. The flaw arises due to insufficient validation of user-supplied data lengths prior to copying it to a buffer. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute code with root privileges. (ZDI-CAN-23190 first disclosed this vulnerability.)
