Summary

CVE-2024-7486 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the MultiPurpose theme for WordPress. This issue permits authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject PHP Objects via deserialization of untrusted input in the 'wpeden_post_meta' post meta. Consequences of successful exploitation may include the deletion of arbitrary files, retrieval of sensitive data, or code execution. No Pop chain has been identified in the vulnerable software; however, if one exists through an additional plugin or theme, it could potentially worsen the impact. WordPress users are advised to update their MultiPurpose theme to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
