Summary

CVE-2024-6885 is a vulnerability affecting the MaxiBlocks plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.9.2, allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access or higher to delete arbitrary files on the server. The root cause is insufficient file path validation in the maxi_remove_custom_image_size and maxi_add_custom_image_size functions, making it easy for attackers to delete critical files like wp-config.php, leading to potential remote code execution.
