Summary

CVE-2024-58251 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting netstat in BusyBox versions up to 1.37.0. Malicious users can launch a network application with a specially crafted argv[0] containing an ANSI terminal escape sequence. When the victim uses netstat, the terminal becomes locked up, resulting in a denial-of-service condition. This vulnerability could potentially impact systems relying on BusyBox for netstat functionality. It is recommended that affected organizations update to the latest version of BusyBox to mitigate this issue.
