Summary

CVE-2024-5708 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 7.7, allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher, and post permissions granted by an Administrator, to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses a page containing the malicious link, posing a significant security risk. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the ‘link’ parameter.
