Summary

CVE-2024-56946 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Technitium DNS Server version 13.2.2 and below. Malicious actors can exploit this issue by triggering unhandled exceptions in listener threads of the DNS-over-QUIC feature, rendering the server incapable of accepting new DNS-over-QUIC connections permanently. The attack results in a denial-of-service condition, impeding the availability of DNS services for legitimate users. The severity of this vulnerability is high, as it allows remote attackers to disrupt the targeted DNS infrastructure.
