Summary

CVE-2024-56781: A vulnerability affecting some PowerMac systems running Linux has been identified and addressed in the kernel. The issue arises due to missing '#size-cells' properties in certain 'escc' nodes during boot, triggering a warning. This issue can be resolved by adding the missing properties to the device tree during boot. This vulnerability depends on commit 045b14ca5c36, which issues a warning for deprecated '#address-cells' and '#size-cells' handling. ‘Escc-legacy’ nodes also lack these properties, but they are not affected by the macio driver.
