Summary
CVE-2024-56757 is a vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel. It involves a problem with the Bluetooth subsystem, specifically the btusb component from MediaTek. The issue arises when a USB dongle is removed without first releasing a special USB interface used for ISO data transmission. MediaTek's interface requires proper release before unregistering the hci device. Failure to do so may result in a kernel panic during the hci device unregistration process.
