Summary

CVE-2024-56312 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Project Dashboard names in REDCap before version 14.9.6. Authenticated users can exploit this issue by injecting malicious scripts into the name field of a Project Dashboard. Clicking on the vulnerable project Dashboard name triggers the execution of the malicious payload, potentially allowing the attacker to execute arbitrary web scripts. This can lead to unauthorized access, data theft, or other malicious activities. Users are strongly encouraged to update their REDCap installations to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
