Summary

CVE-2024-56297 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Highlight software from version n/a to 2.0.2. The issue arises due to improper neutralization of user input during web page generation. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to inject malicious scripts into web pages viewed by other users, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data theft. The Stored XSS technique allows the attacker to leave the malicious script on the page for repeated use, increasing the impact of the attack. Users are advised to update to the latest version of Highlight to mitigate this risk.
