CVE-2024-5579

Summary

CVE-2024-5579 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting Allegra's renderFieldMatch function. This issue arises due to insufficient validation of user-supplied data, leading to deserialization of untrusted data. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by supplying malicious data to the affected system, resulting in arbitrary code execution in the context of LOCAL SERVICE. Authentication is required to exploit this flaw, which was originally identified as ZDI-CAN-23451.
