Summary
CVE-2024-55605 is a vulnerability affecting Suricata, an open-source network Intrusion Detection System and Security Monitoring engine. This issue lies in certain input transformation functions, including to_lowercase, to_uppercase, strip_whitespace, compress_whitespace, dotprefix, header_lowercase, strip_pseudo_headers, url_decode, and xor transform. A large input can cause a stack overflow, resulting in Suricata crashing. Version 7.0.8 addresses this vulnerability by properly managing input size to prevent stack overflow.
