Summary
CVE-2024-55500 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting Avenwu Whistle version 2.9.90 and prior. This issue permits attackers to issue unauthorized API calls on a victim's machine, ultimately leading to the execution of arbitrary code. The CSRF flaw lies in the application's failure to properly validate and authenticate user requests, making it susceptible to manipulation by an adversary. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by tricking a user into visiting a malicious website or clicking on a specially crafted link, thereby forcing the victim's browser to make a malicious request on their behalf. Successful exploitation can result in unauthorized access, data theft, or system compromise. Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version of Avenwu Whistle as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
