Summary
CVE-2024-53778 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting Essential Breadcrumbs, a plugin used for managing and displaying breadcrumbs on WordPress websites. The issue is twofold, involving both Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) and Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities. An attacker could exploit the CSRF weakness to make authenticated requests on behalf of a victim, while the Stored XSS component enables the insertion of malicious scripts into a website, posing a significant security risk. Essential Breadcrumbs versions from n/a through 1.1.1 are reportedly affected.
