Summary
CVE-2024-53277 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Silverstripe Framework, a PHP solution used to power the Silverstripe CMS. In certain instances, form messages may incorporate user-supplied content without proper sanitization, leading to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. The vulnerability exists due to the intentional inclusion of HTML markup in some form messages. Affected versions of the silverstripe/framework package include those below version 5.3.8. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to mitigate this risk, as no known workarounds are available.
