Summary
CVE-2024-53157: A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel affecting arm_scpi firmware. If the DVFS OPP count returned by the firmware is zero, a kernel crash occurs. The issue can lead to a NULL pointer dereference during the reboot test, causing the system to crash with an exception class of DABT and ISV of 0x00000004. The vulnerability was found in the scpi_dvfs_recalc_rate function, specifically in the devm_clk_hw_register call, and affects the clk_scpi driver during platform probe. Systems running the Linux kernel version 4.19.90 or later are potentially impacted.
