Summary
CVE-2024-11896 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Text Prompter plugin for WordPress, versions up to and including 1.0.7. This issue arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'text_prompter' shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it can lead to unauthorized data access, manipulation, or theft. Users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version and apply additional security measures to mitigate potential threats.
