Summary
CVE-2024-53115 is a recently identified vulnerability in the Linux kernel. Specifically, in the drm/vmwgfx driver, the function vmw_user_object_buffer may erroneously return a NULL value under certain conditions. This issue could potentially result in a null pointer dereference if the 'bo' variable is not properly checked before use in the function vmw_framebuffer_surface_create_handle. To address this issue, developers have added a check to ensure that 'bo' is not NULL before proceeding with further operations in vmw_framebuffer_surface_create_handle.
