Summary
CVE-2024-53104 is a recently identified vulnerability in the Linux kernel's uvcvideo driver. This issue arises due to the driver's failure to properly parse frames of type UVC_VS_UNDEFINED during the uvc_parse_format function. Consequently, the size of the frames buffer is incorrectly calculated, leading to potential out-of-bounds writes. This vulnerability could be exploited by malicious actors to execute arbitrary code or cause denial-of-service conditions. Users are strongly advised to update their Linux kernels to address this security flaw.
