Summary
CVE-2024-53074 is a vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel's wifi driver, specifically the iwlwifi module for MediaTek chips. The issue lies in a failure to release link mapping resources during AP (Access Point) removal. This affects devices that do not support the Multi-Link Detection (MLD) API, including some MediaTek models. Consequently, these devices are unable to restart the AP after it has already been started and stopped.
