Summary

CVE-2024-52918 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Bitcoin Core's Bitcoin-Qt component prior to version 0.20.0. This issue permits remote attackers to trigger a denial of service condition, leading to memory consumption and application crashes. The attack is initiated through a maliciously crafted BIP21 r parameter within a URL that contains a large file.
