Summary
CVE-2024-52521 is a vulnerability affecting Nextcloud Server, a self-hosted personal cloud system. The issue lies in the use of MD5 hashes to check background jobs for uniqueness, increasing the chances of identical jobs being erroneously considered as already processed and not being queued for execution. This issue can be mitigated by upgrading Nextcloud Server to versions 28.0.10, 29.0.7, or 30.0.0, which employ SHA256 hashes instead.
