Summary
CVE-2024-10397 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting OpenAFS, an open-source distributed file system. Malicious servers can exploit this issue to cause the OpenAFS cache manager and other client utilities to crash. In extreme cases, arbitrary code execution may be possible. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to systems using OpenAFS and could result in denial-of-service attacks or more serious security breaches. Users are advised to apply patches or updates as soon as they become available to mitigate this risk.
