Summary

CVE-2024-52336 is a script injection vulnerability affecting the Tuned package. Locally logged-in users can exploit the issue by calling the `instance_create()` D-Bus function without authentication. This vulnerability allows the execution of arbitrary scripts with their absolute paths via the `script_pre` or `script_post` options. These user or attacker-controlled scripts, once executed by Tuned with root privileges, could lead to local privilege escalation.
