Summary
CVE-2024-52281 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting SUSE Rancher versions 2.9.0 to 2.9.3. This issue involves an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation vulnerability, which enables a malicious actor to execute a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attack. The attacker can exploit this vulnerability through the cluster description field, ultimately leading to the injection of malicious scripts into a user's web browser. The result is potential unauthorized access to user information or even compromise of the entire Rancher platform. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to Rancher version 2.9.4 to mitigate this risk.
