Summary
CVE-2024-51569 is an Out-of-Bounds Read vulnerability affecting Apache NimBLE, a popular Bluetooth software stack. The flaw arises due to a lack of proper validation in the handling of HCI Number Of Completed Packets, making it susceptible to out-of-bound access and an invalid read from HCI transport memory. Although the vulnerability necessitates a broken or bogus Bluetooth controller, the potential impact may still pose a low-severity risk. Affected versions include those through 1.7.0, and users are advised to upgrade to version 1.8.0 to mitigate this issue.
