Summary

CVE-2024-51448 is a privilege escalation vulnerability affecting IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) versions 21.0.0 through 21.0.7.17 and 23.0.0 through 23.0.18. The issue lies in the incorrect file permissions, allowing local users to substitute the nssm.exe service executable with their own. Upon service or server restart, the replaced binary runs with administrator privileges, enabling the attacker to escalate their access.
