Summary

CVE-2024-50371 is a newly discovered OS Command Injection vulnerability affecting select Advantech devices: EKI-6333AC-2G (<= 1.6.3), EKI-6333AC-2GD (<= v1.6.3), and EKI-6333AC-1GPO (<= v1.2.1). This vulnerability can be exploited by unauthenticated remote users via the default "edgserver" service, which is enabled on the access points. Malicious commands, executed with root privileges, can be injected, posing a significant security risk. The root cause is a lack of adequate input validation in the processing code linked to the "wlan_scan" operation.
